General Physical Preparedness (GPP) is the base layer of fitness. It builds strength, endurance, power, and resilience so you can handle any challenge life throws at you. At FLY, GPP isn’t random. It’s delivered through 9-week progressive cycles, coached to perfection, and designed to make you durable, strong, and athletic.
Why GPP Matters
Strength: Build the foundation for performance and prevent injury
Endurance: Develop your engine for resilience and recovery
Power & Speed: Express force explosively for real-world athleticism
Mobility & Stability: Move better, protect your joints
Work Capacity: Perform and recover under fatigue
This is training for life - not just one sport, event, or season.
Sample Week of GPP Training at FLY
Day 1 – FLYSTRENGTH (Push)
Day 2 – FLYSTRENGTH (Pull)
Day 3 – FLYAIR
Day 4 – FLYSTRENGTH (Push)
Day 5 – FLYBURN / ACTIVE RECOVERY
Day 6 – FLYSTRENGTH (Pull)
Day 7 – Rest
The Science Behind GPP
Strength + Endurance Improves Longevity
Combining resistance and aerobic training improves VO₂max, functional capacity, and long-term health more than either alone (Wilson et al., 2012; García-Hermoso et al., 2020).
Work Capacity = Recovery Capacity
A higher base of GPP raises recovery between bouts of high-intensity work — a predictor of athletic success (Turner, 2011).
Durability & Injury Prevention
Strength, joint stability, and connective tissue resilience built through GPP reduce injuries and support consistent training (Bompa & Buzzichelli, 2018).
Why FLY’s GPP is Different
Unlike random group workouts, our GPP system is:
Structured: 9-week progressive cycles
Balanced: Push/pull design across the week
Blended: Strength + conditioning for complete fitness
Science-Backed: Methods used by athletes, delivered for everyone
